Deduction Clarity
Known fixed costs discussed upfront.
Drivers usually ask about pay before anything else, and rightly so. Big Black Eagle lays out pay by role so applicants can compare how the model works before they commit. Owner-Operators, Lease Drivers, and Team Company Drivers do not all get paid the same way, so the real question is not just “how much,” but “how is the money calculated, what is fixed, and what changes week to week.”
On the Driver Resources page, BBE presents pay figures as gross weekly references unless stated otherwise. That matters because take-home pay depends on miles, revenue, deductions, home time, fuel, optional services, and the specific role you choose. Owner-Operators see a 12% dispatch fee model. Lease Drivers see a 15% dispatch fee model with truck rent, mileage charge, cargo and liability, IFTA, ELD, paperwork, and occupational insurance listed separately. Team Company Drivers run on a percentage-of-load-revenue structure designed for team operations.
The point of this page is not to oversell a number. It is to help drivers ask better questions about settlement timing, common deductions, weekly direct deposit, and what a realistic operating week looks like inside each pay plan.
If you want real examples instead of generic promises, contact recruiting and ask us to walk through the numbers step by step. We would rather explain the math clearly than create the wrong expectation.
